CORONAVIRUS - GOVERNMENT UPDATE…
Additional Economic Relief Package Enacted
President Trump signed the additional relief package agreed to this week by the House and the Senate. The $484 billion package will replenish the Paycheck Protection Program with an additional $380 billion in funds, provide money for hospitals and dedicated funding for expanding testing capacity.
The Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act provides additional funding for the recently created Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loans to replenish the funds that ran out earlier this week. It also includes set-asides within these programs for "community financial institutions," which include credit unions, community financial institutions, and minority depository institutions. The Treasury has provided updates to its Frequently Asked Questions on the Paycheck Protection Program, as well as its resource links for businesses.
Additional Guidance on Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce
On April 17, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued its third version of guidance on essential critical infrastructure workforce. As states consider the phased re-opening of businesses and services, the CISA Guidelines have been an often-cited resource.
