Rita Cohen

President and CEO

Rita Cohen was named President and CEO of MPA—The Association of Magazine Media in April 2022.

Rita joined MPA’s Washington office in 1995 as Director of Economic and Legislative Analysis. Most recently, Rita served as Senior Vice President of Legislative and Regulatory Policy.  During Rita’s tenure, she has managed MPA’s strategic direction in all governmental endeavors affecting the magazine media industry. She has overseen MPA’s advocacy efforts on a broad range of topics at both the Federal and state level.  Her areas of expertise include postal rates, rules and regulation; corporate and sales/use taxation; environmental matters; data and privacy practices; and consumer protection including subscription and marketing practices.  

Before joining MPA, Rita worked at USPS in a variety of positions, ultimately promoted to Principal Operations Research Analyst. Later she joined ICF Kaiser Consulting, a consulting firm with an emphasis on environment, energy and government policy.

Rita holds her B.A. in statistics from the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude, and an MA in business and applied economics.
