Statement from MPA – The Association of Magazine Media on Postal Reform Legislation
New York, NY – Today’s bipartisan agreement by Senate leaders on postal reform legislation is a critically important step on the road to restoring the nation’s postal system to solvency – and preserving the kind of dependable and affordable mail service upon which commerce and communications in the United States depend.
The magazine industry has a vital interest in the outcome of the effort to achieve postal reform. MPA commends and thanks the four Senators whose diligence produced this agreement – Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), and Senator Scott Brown (R-MA). MPA will continue to work closely with these Senators in the days ahead as they pursue Senate passage of the excellent bill they have agreed to co-sponsor today.
