In the UK: Facebook Is Being Eclipsed by Its Youthful Rival Snapchat
Social media giant struggles to stay relevant to a younger generation: By the end of this year Snapchat, which with its disappearing messages and funky photograph filters has already won over young teens, will also become the most popular social media platform in the UK for 18- to 24-year-olds. Snapchat is expected to grow that demographic by more than 350,000 users in 2018, to just under 5 million, putting it ahead of Facebook for the first time in the UK, according to a new report by eMarketer.

Q&A with Farmhouse Style's Susan Wagner
“If you’re looking for quick information; if you’re looking for lists of things or some simple stuff or you just want to look up some quick things, online is great for that. Quick ideas there are wonderful. If you want to relax and take a moment to yourself and see these beautiful four-color pictures spread out in front of you, there is nothing like print for that. You can’t really curl up with your computer the same way that you can with a print magazine. You can’t sit on the porch drinking lemonade and page through there and envision yourself in that home and dog-ear the pages and just enjoy the feel of reading a beautiful magazine when you’re scrolling through webpages.” -Susan Wagner. editor, Farmhouse Style.

Continuing Charm Offensive, Facebook Creates Tool to Boost News Publishers’ Reach on the Platform
The organic content testing tool lets publishers test up to four versions of a piece of content, with variations in elements like headline, description and image, in real time — something publishers would otherwise have to pay for by boosting a post. Using the tool, the publisher can see data like interactions and click-through rate and predictions of those metrics in real time so it can pick the best-performing version to show all its followers.
