Time Inc. Shifts Toward Video As Eyeballs Move Online
"Time is planning to launch a new streaming cooking-competition show called "Homemade vs. The Internet" later this year on Facebook's new video service, David Flumenbaum, Time's executive director of digital video, told Reuters. Time has also inked deals for its longer TV programming to streaming services Netflix, DirecTV Now and others, as well as traditional broadcasters PBS and the Oprah Winfrey Network, said Ian Orefice, Time's head of programming." reports Reuters and The New York Times.
Sports Illustrated Hits Record Traffic from Mayweather-McGregor Fight
Traffic to the Sports Illustrated site reached nearly 7 million unique visitors over the weekend, with SI.com’s live blog — which covered the fight in real-time — drawing in over 2.8 million unique visitors. SI.com had 1.3 million unique visitors to the site from midnight to 1 a.m. EST on Sunday alone (the time of the fight), reaching close to the traffic from all of Super Bowl Sunday this year (1.7 million unique visitors.)

“The MPA’s IMAG community prides itself on sharing and learning from one another,” said Andy Clurman, President and CEO of Active Interest Media and Chair of the IMAG Financial Benchmarking Study. “As a board, we thought a benchmarking study would be the ideal way to provide member companies with key metrics to better understand how their performance compares to similar companies.” The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2016 by Mazars USA, a global accounting firm. Only open to members of the IMAG community, participants received two sets of detailed results: one for all respondents and one broken down by revenue tier.
