David Carey, president of Hearst Magazines, guided the world’s largest publisher of monthly magazines through its transition to the digital age. Key to Mr. Carey’s success was his “Months to Moments” strategy, an approach that called for an increase in the timeliness and amount of content that Hearst produced.
Meredith's Parents Redesign Will Update Magazine for Millennial Moms
Sara Guaglione reports "Parents magazine has updated its look, content and personality for its audience of millennial moms. The changes take effect in the September 2017 back-to-school issue, available on newsstands August 8. The Meredith Corp. magazine's new design includes a modern logo with a new typeface, the “Parents Stencil.” There are also new layouts, photography and additional coverage."

For the 2nd Quarter of 2017, total magazine industry Followers/Likes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest now number 1.1 billion, up 4.5% versus last quarter. Facebook, the largest by far of the four tracked social media networks, continues to see its quarter-to-quarter growth rate slow down. Instagram and Twitter are the fastest growing of the tracked social media platforms for magazine media (+8% and +6% respectively quarter-over-quarter.)

“The MPA’s IMAG community prides itself on sharing and learning from one another,” said Andy Clurman, President and CEO of Active Interest Media and Chair of the IMAG Financial Benchmarking Study. “As a board, we thought a benchmarking study would be the ideal way to provide member companies with key metrics to better understand how their performance compares to similar companies.” The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2016 by Mazars USA, a global accounting firm. Only open to members of the IMAG community, participants received two sets of detailed results: one for all respondents and one broken down by revenue tier.
