Harper's BAZAAR celebrated its 150th birthday with a fashion show on the Empire State Building: “Empire State building ft. meeee,” Kendall Jenner captioned a photo of her summer cover. Gwyneth Paltrow’s March 2012 cover, Reese Witherspoon’s February 2016 cover and Carolyn Schnurer’s May 1947 cover were among those projected onto the northern side of the building.

While many publications struggle to convert their ink and paper to pixels, the four-year-old glossy bimonthly is reversing direction with a foray from digital into print. Scanning the magazine's stylish and highly substantive current issue (Trump vs. World), my business analyst's eye settled on some oddities. The 84-page issue carries just three ads. Also there were no bind-in or blow-in subscription cards, no cover price — no evidence, in short, that readers were being asked to pay.

The Magazine Media 360° Social Media Report covering the 1st Quarter of 2017 was released today by MPA – The Association of Magazine Media. The report shows that magazine media content continues to thrive on social media, connecting content to consumers in meaningful and engaging ways. Total magazine industry Followers/Likes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest combined has reached 1.1 billion, up nearly 5% versus last quarter. The Social Media Report is based on data provided by SocialFlow, exclusively for MPA, and reports on 200 magazine brands across 37 companies.
