Elle Magazine Names Design Director
Elle magazine has named Randy Minor as Design Director. Minor, who previously served as New York magazine’s Art Director since 2006, fills the post formerly held by Paul Ritter. Ritter decamped for Glamour last month as the magazine’s creative director.
Keija Minor, Editor-in-Chief of Brides, on Her Legacy
Keija Minor has gone through quite a few career reinventions in her life. She started out as a corporate lawyer, decided it wasn’t her passion, and then took a major pay cut to became an intern at a startup magazine, Travel Savvy. Boy, did it pay off. Minor went from intern to EIC in three years, then, after stints at Niche Media and Uptown magazine, on to Condé Nast, where she is currently Editor-in-Chief of Brides.
SELF Taps Adina Steiman As Features Director
SELF has appointed Adina Steiman as their new Features Director, succeeding Carin Gorrell, who left the publication in October to become the Editor-in-Chief of Yoga Journal. Steiman was previously the Food and Nutrition Editor at Men's Health for four years, where she oversaw the food coverage for both print and online and worked with other staff to create food videos, microsites, and iPad special features for the publication.
Yale Publishing Course 2014 Scholarship
ASME is again sponsoring a scholarship for the Yale Publishing Course: Leadership Strategies in Magazine Media. The course is scheduled for July 13-18, 2014, at Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut. Only ASME members or editors working for them are eligible to receive this full-tuition scholarship.
