3rd Quarter PIB® Data Shows Positive Trend Continues for Magazine Media
Advertising and audience continue to grow across magazine platforms. PIB-member consumer magazine titles show print improving and tablet ad units with significant gains in Q3. Print ad pages and tablet ad units* on iPad editions are up +6.8% in Q3, and +7% January through September 2013 versus the same period last year.
People Magazine's New Franchise Showcases the New Hollywood
The eight people on the Ones to Watch list are topped by Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg and Sam Claflin, from the Hunger Games sequel. “It’s a new franchise we’re launching, a way to celebrate new Hollywood,” said People Managing Editor Larry Hackett.
WIRED Links with Mastercard's ShopThis on Shopping Pilot
Wired’s readers are going to shop on the magazine’s iPad app beginning with the November issue. The Condé Nast title will be the first publication to offer Mastercard’s ShopThis with MasterPass on Oct. 15th. Readers can purchase items featured in the magazine without leaving the page.
Land Rover Gets Inspired by Real Explorers in Partnership with Outside Magazine
Instead of just purchasing some ads in the publication and on its digital offerings, Land Rover has teamed up with the magazine to create a series of branded content across the publication's properties, including custom video content.

Meredith Corp. Bets on Augmented Reality
Meredith Corp. has been one of the most active publishers in the print-to-mobile space, the company has run more than 200 activation initiatives. The publisher has tested different technologies for its brands, but Augmented Reality is likely to stick with the company based on some of the engagement that Meredith is already seeing.
