AAM: 87% of US Magazine and Newspaper Publishers Have an iPad App
A new survey from the Alliance for Audited Media (formerly the Audit Bureau of Circulations) finds that newspaper and magazine publishers’ digital businesses are gradually becoming profitable, and 63 percent say “tablets are the most important digital channel for their publication’s future.”
Windows 8 Takes Over More Magazine Editorial: Table of Contents
The January issues of magazines including Family Circle, Fitness, and Better Homes and Gardens each open to reveal a table of contents touting Windows 8, which Microsoft is promoting with traditional paid ads on the adjacent pages.
For Publishers, Social Media Still Stingy on Monetization
Atlantic Media this month plans to introduce a new opportunity to its clients: Twitter ads. The publisher will be able to target advertiser messages in several Twitter apps to @TheAtlantic's 190,000 or so followers, as well as a broader group chosen based on keywords and people they follow.
