Awards Ceremony at the 2017 IMAG Annual Conference in Marina del Rey

 

Marina del Rey, CA (May 24, 2017) – MPA – The Association of Magazine Media today announced the winners of the second annual Imagination Awards to honor the innovative and transformational work of independent magazine media (IMAG) companies and brands. The Imagination Awards recognize projects and teams that capture the essence of a brand and demonstrate innovative thinking and imaginative tactics, well-defined business objectives, and successful execution and results.

“The Imagination Award winners exemplify the resourceful, innovative nature of the IMAG community,” said Linda Thomas Brooks, president and CEO, MPA –The Association of Magazine Media. “From food trucks, to high school lesson plans, to skateboarding competitions, it’s incredibly inspiring to see the unconventional yet highly effective methods these enthusiast brands use to engage their audiences.”

Eight awards were presented in six categories: Audience, Content, Digital, Events, Leadership and Revenue. This year, the Revenue category featured more than one award to recognize that bottom line growth comes from many new places. The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges composed of senior executives from a variety of independent magazine media companies.

Winners were judged on ingenuity, effectiveness and their ability to enhance brand voice and serve enthusiast audiences. They are as follows:

The winners were revealed at the Imagination Awards Gala on Tuesday, May 23, during the annual IMAG Conference in Marina del Rey, and was emceed by Kerri Kasem, radio and TV personality and founder, Kasem Cares. The ceremony was sponsored by ProCirc and PubWorX, together offering customized solutions for publishers of all sizes.
