Steve Adler became Editor-in-Chief of BusinessWeek in 2004. Under his leadership, the publication received National Magazine Awards in 2007 and 2008 for BusinessWeek.com’s B-Schools Channel. In 1988, Mr. Adler joined The Wall Street Journal and was appointed Deputy Page-one Editor in 1997. Between 1995 and 1999, he directed reporting teams that won three Pulitzer Prizes. He became Assistant Managing Editor of the Wall Street Journal in 1998, and was named Deputy Managing Editor of the paper in 2000. Mr. Adler’s book, The Jury: Trial and Error in the American Courtroom, won the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award in 1995.

Jonah Bloom oversees editorial operations for Ad Age across all media platforms, including its print and online editions. Mr. Bloom joined Ad Age from PRWeek, a national weekly based in New York covering corporate communication, branding, and public affairs. He helped launch PRWeek in 1998 as News Editor and went on to become Editor-in-Chief. The pair moved out West for senior positions at Goodby, where they met partner Greg Stern, and in 1993 opened Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. Jane Chesnutt is one of the founders of the women’s heart health movement and has developed continuing partnerships between the magazine and the American Heart Association, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and other groups. Before becoming editor-in-chief in 1991, she was the magazine’s health, beauty and fashion director, and health has remained a continuing passion and focus of the magazine. In addition, she is currently working through the magazine to help raise awareness of mental health problems. She holds a degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

During his 32-year publishing career, Jorge Fontevecchia has created more than a hundred original publications in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Russia, and Angola. The most recent of them is Perfil newspaper in Buenos Aires. Mr. Fontevecchia founded Editorial Perfil in 1976. Until 1983, Argentina was governed by a military dictatorship which banned his main publication, arrested him, and threw him out of the country a year before the return of democracy. Honors he has received include the Maria Moors Cabot Prize, granted by the University of Columbia and the Brazilian Government’s “Ordem do Rio Branco.” In 1987 and 2007, Mr. Fontevecchia was distinguished as Best Editor by the Konex Foundation.

Goodby is a thinker, writer, illustrator, printmaker, and director. After leaving J. Walter Thompson in 1979, he joined Ogilvy & Mather, where he met Rich Silverstein. There, the two won just about every advertising prize imaginable. Adweek has called him America's best television copywriter; he has been chosen three times, along with Silverstein, as Adweek's Creative Director of the Year. In 2004, along with Mr. Silverstein, he was inducted into The One Club Hall of Fame. Also a director of commercials, Mr. Goodby has been awarded the Clio for humor, and his spot for the California Milk Processors was selected by Advertising Age as the best commercial of 1995. Carlos Lamadrid has brought excellent experience, passion and savvy for smart marketing to America’s 7th largest magazine. Under his energetic leadership, the brand produces custom innovative and creative multimedia packages for advertisers. As former Vice President/Publisher of JANE magazine, Mr. Lamadrid increased revenue by 20 percent. He also served as Publisher of Men’s Journal where he has been largely credited with turning the magazine around. ANTHONY LICATAEditor Field & Stream
Anthony Licata joined Field & Stream in 1998 as an Associate Editor, and quickly moved through the ranks to hold the positions of Senior Editor and Deputy Editor. He is the 15th editor in magazine’s 112-year history. Under his leadership, the publication’s “Sportsman’s Notebook” section was nominated for a 2007 National Magazine Award. That same year, Field & Stream also received its first nomination in the category of General Excellence. Mr. Licata has served as the on-air host for the magazine’s television show, “The Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge,” which aired on Versus as both vignettes and a three-part special.

Nina Link assumed her current role at MPA in 1999. Prior to assuming her current position, Stacy Morrison was Executive Editor at Marie Claire, where she spearheaded the magazine’s advocacy projects. She was also the founding Editor-in-Chief of the design magazine One, Editor-in-Chief of Modern Bride, and managing editor of Time Out New York and Condé Nast Sports for Women. Ms. Morrison has dedicated herself to the issue of domestic violence, which affects one in three women in America. Redbook’s feature “You Can Save a Woman’s Life Just By Asking How She’s Doing” was nominated for a National Magazine Award in the category of Personal Service. Ms. Morrison’s advocacy work has been honored by The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Safe Horizon.

Since 1987, Nancy Pelosi has represented California's Eighth District in the House of Representatives. The Eighth District includes most of the City of San Francisco including Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and many of the diverse neighborhoods that make San Francisco a vibrant and prosperous community. Overwhelmingly elected by her colleagues in the fall of 2002 as Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives, Congresswoman Pelosi is the first woman in American history to lead a major party in the U.S. Congress. Before being elected Leader, she served as House Democratic Whip for one year and was responsible for the party's legislative strategy in the House. On January 4, 2007, she was elected Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

In his current position, David J. Refkin oversees the environmental and sustainable development activities of Time Inc. His primary areas of focus are forestry (specifically Time Inc.’s Certified Sustainable Forestry Program), global climate change, reducing Time Inc.’s carbon footprint and recycling, including Re-Mix (recycling magazines is excellent). Additional priorities include partnering with other leadership companies and promoting the economic, environmental, and social responsibility components of sustainable development throughout the company. He also serves as Board President of the National Recycling Coalition and is on the board of Trustees of the H. John Heinz Center for Science, Economics and the Environment. Mr. Refkin was Time Inc.’s representative on the Paper Task Force, a group organized by the Environmental Defense Fund.
